Accompanying tickets with which there is no standing in line and a long entry queue to face, proceed directly to metal detector security check.
The tour starts on a beautiful panoramic terrace that gives an awe-inspiring view of the dome of St.
Peter's overlooking the gardens of Vatican-so suitable for taking memorable pictures.
Your guide will walk you through highlights of masterpieces and artifacts from so many cultures and civilizations housed in this gigantic Museum.
The Pio Clementine Museum contains within its walls a very impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman statues among which is included the Laocoon group.
Marvel at the impressive length of the Tapestry Hall, crossing the Hall of the Painted Maps to reach the Sistine Chapel, whose history, religious and aesthetic significance has never found a parallel anywhere in the world.
Experience this tour with a small, intimate group of not more than 16 participants so that you are comfortable and engaged without larger crowds.
Access between the Sistine Chapel and St.
Peter's Basilica during the Jubilee Year will not be permitted.
To enter the Basilica, one has to go back to the main entrance and walk along the Vatican Walls by Viale Vaticano, Via Leone IV, Piazza Risorgimento, Via di Porta Angelica, and Piazza San Pietro.
Next is a wait of about 10 minutes.
Present your ID and you will be allowed to go inside and look around the Basilica by yourself.
The way to cover is about 1 kilometer which takes about 20 minutes of walk.
In the end, this gives just a short time to stay in Piazza San Pietro before going back to Civitavecchia.
