Full description

In the Eternal City, if you're short on time, it is crucial to plan your journey carefully because they say all roads lead to Rome. Travel to the center of Rome on a private full-day shore excursion from Civitavecchia cruise ship terminal. Hop in a comfortable Mercedes minivan with a private driver/guide and embark on your adventure. The first stop on your itinerary is the iconic Colosseum. After receiving commentary from your driver, take advantage of the opportunity to explore inside without having to wait in long lines. To skip the queues, make sure to prepurchase your entrance ticket for either the 09.45 or 10.100 am entrance time slot on your own. I will take a drive to Aventine Hill and make a stop to admire the breathtaking views across to Palatine Hill, with the magnificent Circus Maximus situated below. Afterward, I will continue driving to Piazza Venezia, passing by the renowned Victor Emanuel Monument, which is affectionately referred to as the "wedding cake" by locals. As I proceed on my journey, I will also have the opportunity to see the remarkable Pantheon. Once there, I will be able to explore this extraordinary 1st-century BC temple, which has now been transformed into a church and serves as the final resting place for Victor Emanuel II and Raphael (please note that tickets can be purchased on-site for €5 each). My adventure will then lead me to the enchanting Baroque Trevi Fountain, where I will seize the moment to toss in a coin and ensure my eventual return to Rome. Afterwards, take a leisurely drive past the iconic Spanish Steps and make a pit stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant, although the cost of the meal is not covered in the rate. Your driver will kindly suggest a suitable dining establishment or you can use this time to explore and enjoy your own culinary adventure.Continue your journey to the Vatican Museums, where you have the option to bypass the long queues by purchasing entrance tickets for a 2:00 pm entry in advance. Once inside, marvel at the magnificent Sistine Chapel, either by yourself or by hiring an officially licensed English-speaking guide for an additional fee of €200. This knowledgeable guide will accompany you on a private 2-hour tour that includes visiting St. Peter's Basilica.Conclude your visit to the Vatican at approximately 4:00 pm, marking the start of a one-hour drive back to Civitavecchia. Rest assured that your driver will drop you off directly at your cruise ship upon arrival.
