With nearly 2,000 years of history, see what life was like during the Roman Empire! At its height, over 50,000 people could be seated inside the Colosseum watching exotic animals and executions of prisoners, reenactments of battles; and gladiatorial contests would take place here.Duration of visit is 2 hours.Admission included.
After having visited the Colosseum, tourists often go to the Roman Forum.
"Ruins" do not describe it accurately since it was for centuries the core of ancient Rome in a beautiful precinct joined by temples, basilicas, and animated public spaces.
The Forum began as a swampy cemetery but took shape first in the 7th century BC before developing into the social, political, and commercial center of the Roman Empire.
The monuments that can be seen today include the Arch of Septimius Severus, the Curia, and some parts of temples- mainly some columns belonging to that of Saturn- as well as another arch (that of Titus).
Palatine Hill is the most central of all seven hills, rising forty meters above ground level at the Roman Forum.
Inside Palatine Hill, there are many traces of huge constructions left for the nobles in ancient Roman society.
For catching a great view of Rome and understanding its history, there is no place like the Palatine! <15 mins • Admission Ticket Included> Civitavecchia Port Your private driver will make sure you get back to the port in time for boarding your ship.
