From January 12 to March 31, large conservation works on Michelangelo’s Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel will be carried out by the Vatican Museums.
There will be a period during which a scaffolding system occupies the entire wall of the Last Judgment.
The Sistine Chapel remains open and accessible to visitors, but this artwork cannot be seen while it is being restored.
Thank you for your patience as this great work of art gets the preservation it needs.
The early morning express experience by group is designed to make your time in Rome most efficient.
The experience offers direct access to one of Italy's most visited attractions, the Sistine Chapel.
Accompanied by a local expert guide, appreciate the stunning beauty presented by Michelangelo's work while learning about history and techniques, besides secrets that have made this work so extraordinary.
It goes on to the Raphael Rooms where there is a more personal viewing of several his fresco masterpieces.
The artwork does shine better within a very small and quiet group, giving the possibility to concentrate on details of paintings while listening to anecdotes from your guide.
This is followed by tips from your guide about how best to organize the rest of your stay in the museums.
A look at Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel is mandatory when in Rome but, unfortunately, the crush of thousands per day doesn’t allow one to take in the artwork properly.
This tour allows you to see and feel the important places at the crack of dawn.
Make the best use of your time and savor one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks before 09:30 with so much more left over to enjoy in the rest of the Eternal City.
