This ancient temple was devoted to all gods, standing there as proof of Roman innovation.

Its huge dome roof with a central oculus lets in light from above.

Wandering through charming narrow streets, crossing hidden courtyards, we come to Piazza Navona—Bernini’s masterpiece.

A vibrant square today marks the place where chariot races and athletic competitions were held in the Stadium of Domitian.

It draws attention mostly for Bernini’s Fountain of Four Rivers—a splendid centerpiece displaying allegorical figures representing the great rivers of the world.
