Walk where rulers and common folk once trod, seeing the city at its most grand.

Begin your journey at the Touristation Aracoeli office, Piazza Ara Coeli 16.

There, you will meet your expert guide and watch a 30-minute multimedia show about Ancient Rome made by an award-winning team who has worked with UNESCO, BBC, and National Geographic.

See how Rome changed over time with beautiful pictures before you go out to visit the city's famous places.

Begin a slow walk through ruins and palaces with your guide.

Few places in the world match the sad great beauty of the Roman Forum and Colosseum.

Learn how the city grew into a major center for politics, religion, economics, and law at such sites as the Curia, Arch of Septimius Severus, Tabularium, and Temple of Saturn.

Walk on the Via Sacra which was used for big triumphal processions and leads to the most famous arena in the world -the Colosseum.

Do not miss seeing the Arch of Constantine; a true symbol of imperial might and history.

Step into the Colosseum, a wonder of ancient Roman engineering and the biggest arena ever built.

Hear about the brave gladiators, sea fights, wild animal hunts, and grand shows that could last for 100 days.

These stories give a look at the glory, drama, and fun of the Roman Empire.

On that day or the next, continue your exploration with a three-hour guided visit to the Vatican Museums.

Discover the wealth of art, history, and culture moving from the Egyptian and Etruscan displays to halls filled with Greco-Roman relics and works of Renaissance art.

As you pass through the Borgia Apartments, the Vatican Pinacoteca, Gallery of Maps, Pinecone Courtyard plus more sites admire frescoes, sculpture pieces, tapestries as well as old maps.
