  • Strict adherence to the Vatican dress code is required. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Entry to the Sistine Chapel and Basilica will be denied for improper attire.
  • Guides cannot speak inside the Sistine Chapel. A full explanation is provided before entry; your guide will accompany you silently inside.
  • From January-March 2026, Michelangelo's The Last Judgment is undergoing restoration. The Chapel remains open, but scaffolding may obstruct the altar wall. No refunds are issued for restoration work, scaffolding, or unannounced Vatican closures.
  • The Basilica may close without notice for religious ceremonies. If closed, an extended Vatican Museums itinerary will be provided. Due to 2026 visitor volume, expect security and headset delays. We appreciate your patience.
