Hike through Rome in the early morning to visit St.
Peter’s Basilica when fewest people will be inside, and to appreciate a beautiful view of the Vatican City at its most peaceful.
Your morning begins from St.
Peter’s Square where a very funny local historian takes you through the history of the Vatican.
Travel to the top of the dome in a lift to the first balcony, view facilities available for your further climb, listen to stories related to the strange basilica and its architectural designs as your leader leads you, and then finish your climb.
Once you reach its summit, you will be completely amazed at the view that unfolds before your eyes of Vatican City with its seven hills standing clearly visible; great panoramic photography spot.
Move from “seeing” to actually “looking” at St.
Peter’s Basilica for yourself.
The text is easily absorbed by Bernini’s colossal Balcony and Michelangelo’s fine Piety.
Your leader will take you through the chapels, discussing each of the masterpieces in relation to history and artistic worth: an experience not easily forgotten.
