Know before you go
Please be advised: Airport-style security is mandatory for all visitors. The queues at security can last as long as 30 minutes during the peak season.
The first part of the plan is fast-moving. As such, this will not be a good choice for people with mobility challenges.
To enter the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica, you must cover your knees and shoulders. There is a specific list of items that are prohibited inside the Vatican Museums: any bag larger than 40x35x15 centimeters, tripods, large umbrellas, and objects that could harm other visitors or artworks must be stored in the cloakroom. It should be noted that the cloakroom is about a 20-minute walk from the end point of the tour.
An important note is that St. Peter’s Basilica can be closed without warning for religious services. In the event this happens on the day of your visit, we will find suitable alternatives and reorganize our day.
