Full description

On the first day, a dedicated driver will meet you at your place of stay to explore some off-the-beaten-track gems that are typically overlooked by visitors. We will start our sightseeing with Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps – two well-known squares where tourists can marvel at pieces of artistry. Following these attractions, we shall then make our way to yet another majestic manifestation of Rome’s architectural artistry – the Trevi Fountain, the peaceful Tiber River, and the astounding Pantheon. If you choose to go on foot, you can walk leisurely through the streets and visit Castel Sant’Angelo, which is also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian. Then you can cross the beautiful Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge from where you will have a spectacular view of Castel Sant'Angelo. After this, we will have around a one-hour break for lunch (not included). Later, we will proceed with our Vatican Museum tour, which is non-waiting and exclusively arranged for our group.During your first day, we shall begin with the majestic papal art collections spanning several centuries; after that, you can take a view of the Vatican Gardens at an exclusive viewpoint on a map display; and then end the tour with tapestry galleries before concluding at the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo’s works. On the second day, there is a 45-minute journey through catacombs veiling the Appian Way cryptic. They are subterranean corridors that span 93 miles and were also used as places of burial for early Christians who were suffering from persecution under the control of the Roman Empire. Finally, you will be taken to see it just out of the window before our arrival at the Colosseum. If you want a stress-free way of discovering the history of the Colosseum in Rome, one of the city’s symbols, then go for a private skip-the-line tour that lasts at least one and a half hours without a doubt and culminate your exploration by having lunch - not limited within these time brackets. You will have an opportunity to appreciate its architecture, know more about gladiators’ combats as well as how they presented other animals to fight each other, which also happened here. Later, visit Palatine Hill where Roman emperors resided and end the tour by heading to the Roman Forum where both political, religious, and commercial activities took place. To begin with, on day three of your excursion, you'll encounter notable sites such as the Ancient Senate House and the Temple of Vesta, along with several grand arches dating back to the reigns of Titus, Constantine I, and Septimius Severus. Alternatively, you may find yourself with an hour or two to spare at Castel Sant’Angelo—a perfect opportunity to marvel at its breathtaking architecture and appreciate the incredible artworks housed inside. While accompanied by your guide, you will become acquainted with the history of this bridge and its artistic components, namely statues. There is no waiting line at Castel Sant’Angelo, yet you will discover how it has functioned as a Roman tomb, an influential papal residence, a military castle, a jailhouse, a place of execution, and a museum across diverse epochs. This remarkable spot allows one to admire stunning panoramas of Rome from its highest point. The roof terrace that can be accessed from the building will grant you a chance to get your cameras out to capture some postcard-worthy views throughout your visit. You are going to leave your two-hour lunch break behind once you get into your vehicle and the driver is waiting for you so that he can drop you off at the Baths of Caracalla, one of the most famous public baths from ancient Rome. After getting there, an official guide will receive you and conduct a private tour of these wonderfully preserved ruins as well as a testimony to both Roman ingenuity and engineering skill. Along the way, you will see glimpses of the heating system, mosaic floors in some parts, and finally explore huge vaulted chambers with porticoes.
