In the Vatican Gardens, Pope Leo XIV prayed for peace at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.

The mission and prophecy come out of prayer: “In our towns, the crying of babies must stop; no one should be forced out of their house by the danger of bombs; the wish for power and the cruelty of words must give way to a search for fairness and truth. But everyone should take part, starting with small but important steps, refraining from all forms of verbal or physical violence, both in daily life and on social media.”

From the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens, Pope Leo XIV prayed for peace in spiritual unity with thousands of faithful and pilgrims who had gathered at Shrines all over the world. On Saturday evening, 30 May 2026, he concluded the Marian month by reciting the Rosary. This was a prayerful gathering that the faithful participated in through live television broadcasts coordinated by the Dicastery for Evangelization, Section for Fundamental Questions regarding Evangelization in the World.

Some of these include the Shrine of the Mother of God in Zarvanytsia, Ukraine; the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo, Philippines; the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Fatima, Portugal; the Shrine of Mary Queen of Peace in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina; the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France; the Shrine of Saint Charbel in Annaya, Byblos, Lebanon; the Pontifical Shrine of the Holy House in Loreto; the Shrine of Jasna Góra in Częstochowa, Poland; the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock in Ireland; the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City; and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
