The schedule of Pope Leo XIV's liturgical celebrations by the Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations includes all dates occurring between April to July 2026. Each event is noted to be in local (Rome) time.

Africa during the month of April

The Pope will visit four African countries, including Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea as part of his 2nd international pilgrimage. The 10 day visit is set to take place from April 13 - 23, 2023.

This trip represents Pope Leo's first trip to Africa since becoming pope last year. Although Pope Leo will be visiting Africa for the first time, he has visited Kenya six times and Tanzania five times before he was pope. The last time Pope Leo visited Kenya was in February 2025, only two months before he became pope, when he dedicated a new chapel in Nairobi.

During his tenure as the Prior General of the Augustinian Order, he also made visits to Augustinian chapters located in Nigeria.

The Pope will celebrate a mass for the Priestly Ordinations on the Fourth Sunday of Easter, April 26, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica. The Ordination of Eight Men from the Diocese of Rome will take place on this day known as Good Shepherd Sunday.

On May 2 at 5 PM, Pope Leo will officiate Holy Mass during the episcopal ordinations at the Basilica of St. John Lateran.

Friday, May 8the, there'll be a formal observance of one year since the pope was made a pope. He'll make an official visit to Pontifical Shrine of BN Mary; afterwards there will be an official mass & pray at the shrine; Pope will then proceed on to Naples/Pompeii.

Pope Leo will return to Rome in three weeks to celebrate Sunday/May 24th @ 10 AM in St Peter's Basilica with the official Pentecost Sunday Mass. A trip through the Mediterranean islands; as well as Spain.

The Pope will be traveling to Spain from June 6 through June 12 and will visit both the capital city of Madrid and the city of Barcelona where the new, tallest tower of the Basílica de la Sagrada Família will be officially blessed before he returns to the Canary Islands at the end of his visit.

After completing his Apostolic mission to Spain soon after this travel, the Holy Father will continue on to the next stage of his journey - Italy! But it's not just any old journey. This trip, which takes place on June 20th, will be a Pastoral visit to Pavia, Italy - only 50 km south of the bustling metropolis of Milan. The Holy Father will pray Vespers in Pavia at 5 pm. Also, the city is home to the relics of St Augustine inside the Basilica di San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro, thus reinforcing its historical and religious ties to St. Augustine of Hippo.

At 9:30 am on June 29, which is nine days from now, the Pope will have a Mass at St. Peter's Basilica, during which he will give pallia for the newly appointed Metropolitan Archbishops. This Mass will also coincide with the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.

Pope Leo will wrap up his pastoral trip by saying Mass on the island of Lampedusa at 10:00 AM on 4 July . Lampedusa has become one of the most important entry points for thousands of migrants traveling from Africa or the Middle East to Italy and Europe .

Finally, onJuly 4, Pope Leo will make a pastoral visit to Lampedusa and preside over Mass there at 10am. This island is a gateway for thousands of migrants from Africa and the Middle East to Italy and Europe.
