On Tuesday, November 14, the administration of the Vatican Museums will officially open the new entrance to the Necropolis of Via Triumphalis. Visitors will be able to directly reach this archaeological site through the Porta di Santa Rosa gate, the grand entrance to Vatican City which faces Piazza Risorgimento.

In a statement from the Museums, the Necropolis visits— distinctively packaged with Vatican excursions—enjoyedbroadening interests over the years. They have, therefore, taken the opportunity to further simplify access by allowing exclusive and independent access to the archaeological site even for individual guests. It will start on November 17 this year; visitors will be able to directly access the Necropolis via Via Triumphalis.

While waiting for the Jubilee Celebrations, the Governorate of Vatican City State is going to present anew guided tour experience solely dedicated to the Necropolis, further enriching the cultural proposals managed by the Vatican Museums. Those interested still have the opportunity to opt for combined options, like Museums & Necropolis or VaticanGardens & Necropolis. Visits are now bookable exclusively online on the official Vatican Museums website and are scheduled to take place on Fridays and Saturdays.
